Application: BAS 450-Hour Program

Students must complete this application in order to start your registration. Applicants will be selected to enroll upon the review of:

1. HIGH SCHOOL CERTIFICATION Students must hold a high school diploma or GED/ HiSET certificate to enroll in courses. 

• You will be prompted to upload your high school diploma, transcript, or certificate (unofficial copies are accepted).

2. RCC PLACEMENT EXAM

Students must take the RCC Placement exam. Students with college experience may have this requirement waived upon review of a college transcript obtained within the last three years demonstrating good academic standing. You will be prompted to upload your placement exam results OR college transcripts from U.S. based institution (unofficial copies are accepted) 

           3. INTERVIEW

All applicants to the 450-Hour Building Automation Systems (BAS) Program are required to complete an interview with the Program Manager of the Center for Smart Building Technology. The purpose of this interview is to determine whether the applicant is a strong fit for the program and the demands of the industry.

During the interview, applicants will be assessed on:

• Professionalism – reliability, communication, and readiness for a technical training environment
• Attitude – willingness to learn, teamwork, and overall mindset
• Aptitude – problem-solving ability and capacity to understand technical concepts
• Interest in the Industry – demonstrated motivation to pursue a career in Building Automation Systems

Employer partners may participate on the interview panel. Their involvement ensures that the program continues to align with real workforce expectations and provides candidates with an authentic preview of industry standards.
