This comprehensive 320-hour program will introduce students to the clinical responsibilities of a medical office. Topics include: Preparing patients for examination and treatment, routine laboratory procedures, diagnostic testing, the cardiac life cycles, ethics and the legal aspects of healthcare, pharmacology, electrocardiography, and the use of an EKG machine with proper lead placement. This program includes taking the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) exam, which is a requisite for certificate completion.

Prerequisites

Place into ENG 099/101 or above on the Workforce Development Placement Exam. This exam may be waived upon review of your college transcript (with the exception of those who register for the grant funded Spring 2025 courses).
