Course Description

This comprehensive 180-hour virtual program will introduce students to ICD-10 guidelines, basic claims processes for medical insurance and third-party reimbursements, and specialty fields such as surgery, radiology, and laboratory. Students will become familiar with user manuals (CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS) and learn how to match services and codes. Students will also learn to solve insurance billing problems, manually file claims, complete common insurance forms, trace delinquent claims, appeal denied claims, and streamline billing procedures.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE is available for students who are eligible. We currently have ETF Lite Funds for tuition assistance for the Summer and Fall semesters. These funds are available until fully exhausted or until September 2025 (whichever comes first). It is in your best interest to complete your application as soon as possible, in order to secure your financial assistance. The program application has a section dedicated to determine eligibility. Please complete the application for more details. 

*Space is limited. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until programs are filled and are prioritized based on the submission of all required documents. These documents must be submitted and approved by the Program Manager no later than one week prior to the course start date. Students that do not meet the grant eligibility and the registration requirements will be dropped from the course.

Prerequisites

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D
  • Place into ENG 099/101 or above on the Workforce Development Placement Exam. This exam may be waived upon review of your college transcript.

  • Intermediate Computer Skills  

  • Social Security Number
