CSA 306 - Medical Assistant 1: EKG Techniques
Course Description
This course introduces students to the EKG profession. It provides students with the fundamentals they need to work in hospitals, clinics, emergency and trauma centers, private physician’s offices, out-patient centers, and extended nursing care facilities. Students will be trained to operate and adjust EKG monitors and understand the results of the electrocardiograph recordings. Topics include anatomy and diseases of the heart, Holter Monitoring, interpreting and reading EKG recordings. This course is part one of four program components:
Part 1: EKG Techniques (28 hours)
Part 2: Phlebotomy Techniques (64 hours)
Part 3: Clinical Techniques (68 hours)
Part 4: Externship (160 hours - full time schedule)
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE is available for students who are eligible. We currently have ETF Lite Funds for tuition assistance for the Summer and Fall semesters. These funds are available until fully exhausted or until September 2025 (whichever comes first).
