CSA 523 - Phlebotomy Technician
Course Description
This 90 hour course introduces students to medical terminology, human anatomy and physiology, OSHA regulations, blood-borne pathogens, universal precautions, ethics, and applicable law. Students will develop the skills for various blood collection methods using proper techniques and standard precautions. They will familiarize themselves with test requirements, tube identification, procedures, and protocols for lab safety. This program includes taking the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) exam, which is a requisite for certificate completion. This course is part one of two components:
Part 1: Phlebotomy Technician (90 hours)
Part 2: Externship (120 hours - full time schedule)
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE is available for students who are eligible. We currently have ETF Lite Funds for tuition assistance for the Summer and Fall semesters. These funds are available until fully exhausted or until September 2025 (whichever comes first). It is in your best interest to complete your application as soon as possible, in order to secure your financial assistance. The program application has a section dedicated to determine eligibility. Registration
