Course Description

This comprehensive 60-hour program provides skills and considerations necessary for an entry level position specific to that of a veterinary assistant. Species discussed include dogs, cats, pocket pets, reptiles, avian and large animal. The laboratory component will include demonstrations and hands on instruction. Topics covered include: office procedures & client relations, medical terminology, animal behavior & restraint, nutrition, nursing care, anatomy, pharmacology, surgical assisting, laboratory procedures, imaging & more!

Prerequisites: High School Diploma or HiSET/GED, with proficiency in college-level English
