Course Description

This is an introductory Spanish course designed for students with little or no knowledge of Spanish. The focus in class is on using Spanish to exchange real-life information and ideas, and on learning the functional grammar and vocabulary to accomplish this. It presents the essentials of correct Spanish usage through acquisition of basic skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. By the end of the course, the students will be able to attain a high novice level of oral proficiency, engage in basic conversations and express simple needs in everyday circumstances.
