Course Description

This course provides essential training in energy-efficient building operations, designed for individuals starting careers in building operations, construction, and maintenance, as well as for current facilities staff looking to deepen their understanding of energy efficiency. Students will gain foundational knowledge of building systems and energy-saving practices, with a focus on commercial buildings.

Through this course, students will develop skills in identifying energy conservation opportunities and creating action plans for facility improvements. The training covers HVAC, lighting, sustainability, and indoor environmental quality, emphasizing efficient building operations and optimization. Upon completion, students receive a "Fundamental Certificate of Completion" and qualify to enroll in the nationally recognized Building Operator Certification (BOC)® program.
